Senior Structural Engineer (In-Office)

KSG Engineers is a Scranton, PA based structural and civil engineering firm that is growing and seeking a candidate to fill a Senior Structural Engineering role.

Applicants must possess experience in the structural engineering of buildings and drafting production of structural engineering related drawings. The successful candidate should be experienced in CAD and REVIT drafting and have experience or the desire to be a project manager. The hiring firm has a work environment which is busy yet relaxed and stable with diversified client base and backlog.

This person will work closely independently and in teams on structural engineering projects and will be responsible for supporting the production of Structural engineering construction documents including plans, notes and details. All work is directly under the supervision of the firm Principal Engineer.  The candidate will be required to develop full sets of construction drawings in either CAD or Revit. The candidate must be able to manage small and medium sized projects and is required to communicate with design team members and clients.  This person should possess strong communication and coordination skills, and should be self-motivated and detail oriented, with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically excellent structural drawings.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.

  • Completion of engineering design assignments and management of projects of various scope and complexity
  • Completion of complex engineering design projects in conjunction with structural drafters, designers and firm Principals
  • Use of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problems
  • Will be responsible for producing design, drawings and calculations
  • Review of structural engineering shop drawings and calculations
  • Travel to job sites and field review of structural related construction
  • Application of design software for structural design in conjunction with senior Engineers
  • Client interfacing, as required

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or related field.
  • EIT certification required, PE preferred
  • Minimum of +5 years career experience.
  • Must have experience with computer applications and design software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Enercalc, Ram Structural Systems, Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design preferred.
  • Must have familiarity with applicable codes, such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Self-motivating and ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism'
  • Applicant must be able to commute to our Scranton, PA location.

Senior Structural Engineer

Civil Engineer Internship (In-Office)

Keystone Civil Group, Inc (KSG) is currently looking for an ambitious Civil Engineering student.  KSG would prefer that prospective applicants have accomplished all lower division coursework and some upper division civil engineer courses (approximately two or more years of completed course work).

KSG is currently seeking a seasonal or part time employee. This employment opportunity will provide engineering and drafting experience on a wide variety of civil projects in our Scranton, PA office.

General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will assist senior engineers at KSG in performing engineering services for our clients. Our interns will be involved in a wide variety of civil engineering tasks that may include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in site evaluation, analysis and/or design of existing or new facilities.
  • Assist in developing engineering reports.
  • Assist with structural drafting projects in AutoCAD.
  • Assist project managers and technical staff with project work, business development activities, and organizational tasks.
  • May be called upon to perform routine engineering calculations, review documentation, research technical issues, prepare/edit presentations, and reports, organize files, etc.
  • He/She will be required to provide a level of professionalism that promotes a positive image of KSG to our clients and the public.

Supervision Received

  • All interns will work under the direct supervision of Registered Professional Engineers who have 30+ years of experience in providing practical solution orientated civil engineering in both design and construction administration. He/She will be provided with all required mentorship for each specific task and project type.

Office / Position location:  Scranton, PA Office

Up to 40 hours per week paid internship – 8 Hour Shift (Monday – Friday)
