Building Above While Life Continued Below
Designing and constructing a 7,000+ square foot vertical second floor addition above an active school brought a challenge few projects demand: ensuring that education never paused while expansion soared overhead. The school’s halls remained filled with students, learning and thriving, while just above them, beams were raised, decks were placed, and a new chapter was being built.
Our structural design solutions included:
- Long-span steel framing with moment frames to achieve open, flexible spaces without interrupting the school’s footprint.
- Micropile and grade beam foundation systems, engineered to deliver deep, reliable support while accommodating existing conditions and not overloading the existing foundation system.
- Carefully sequenced construction that allowed the new second floor to grow seamlessly, while daily operations continued without disruption.
A Space Designed for Growth and Innovation
The addition provides TABC with far more than square footage—it provides a framework for the future. Inside this expansion lives an:
- Expanded Beit Midrash, enlarged by 50% and anchored by a breathtaking glass wall that connects tradition with modern inspiration.
- Science Wing, empowering students to engage deeply with discovery and technology.
- Arts and Electives Hub, including a music studio, broadcast center, and art studio that nurture creativity and collaboration.
- Student Center, a gathering place that fosters connection, leadership, and community.
- Dedicated SINAI Schools space, built for inclusion, ensuring that every student has a place where they belong.
Together, these environments do more than meet the needs of today—they anticipate the needs of tomorrow.

This new wing, known as the Rabbi Yosef Adler Building, stands as a living tribute to leadership, tradition, and forward-thinking education. It reinforces TABC’s “Building Our Future” campaign by delivering spaces that reflect both Torah values and the pursuit of academic excellence.
